THE World’s Largest Photoinitiator Supplier Has Begun to SHUT DOWN
READ:320  UPDATE:2020-09-07

Affected by the COVID-19, IGM, (the world's largest photoinitiator supplier in Lombardy, Italy), has begun to stop operations. For domestic photoinitiator companies, it is undoubtedly a good opportunity to expand globally. Due to the domestic environmental protection policy, a batch of photoinitiator companies with immature technology, small scale and unable to be changed were initially eliminated. So far, the overall supply of photoinitiators has exceeded demand, and prices have begun to increase.

According to the statistical data of the Radiation Curing Professional Committee, the output of domestic photoinitiators has maintained a relatively stable growth trend in recent years. In 2018, the domestic output of photoinitiators was nearly 39,000 tons, an increase of approximately 14.7 percentage points from the total output of 34,000 tons in the previous year. Among them, 1173 photoinitiators have the largest output, while DETX and ITX photoinitiators have the same output, accounting for 2% of the market. In the future, with the further expansion of the market, the output of domestic photochemical machines will continue to grow.

At the same time, thanks to the environmental protection policy, the product quality of the entire industry has been further improved so that it has low pollution and sustainable material characteristics. Even today, when various countries have extremely strict environmental protection requirements, domestic photoinitiators can also go abroad and into the world, thereby further expanding the market
